Long ago, I was a painter. I loved to create faux finish techniques. Hence, why I love all that is messy in card making. When this video featured the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder AND Galvanized Metallic Paper, I knew I had to get my hands on these products and mess about. The video features the Country Lane Suite:
As I am writing this blog we are having some crazy weather here today!! Winds gusting at 100km/h and snow!!!
Wow!!! What better reason to create some cards.
Today I am featuring the very vintage March subscription box. The kit creates 8 cards, and so far I have created 12 by alternating a few of the items. I still have a few bits left, so we will see where that leads me. Be sure to check out the video below to get inspired to create:
I love that the envelopes are the perfect size for adding a flower seed packet. I think this would be a great Mother’s Day to gift to my friends. Especially the ones that I know love gardening.
Card #1 was created by sponging over the flowers with Flirty Flamingo, Powder Pink and Pear Pizzazz inks and a sponge dauber. I also coloured the wood flower element.
Card #2 was created by trimming down the front portion of the envelope. Here I used a Powder Pink card stock base, cut the included pink mat on a diagonal and added the luscious ribbon. (Afterthought, the brads could be used to adhere the ribbon too!)
Card #3 is a variation on the original envelope. I cut apart the coloured flowers so that I could bump them up, added some sponged Early Espresso ink to the edges.
Card #4 A tech glitch caused me to loose the first part of this clip. To create the flap, I used the leftover envelope piece from card #2 to add a strip to the back. This gave me something to anchor the flap. I used the floral stamp ( afterthought the leaves stamp would work too!) to create an allover stamped image. I adhered the strips and floral sprays included in the kit and sponged the wood element. What I love about this card is when the flap is closed or opened the card is beautiful!

Back again, with another beautiful Brusho background. I created this card, first using the easy brusho technique. Once it was dry I added the versamark and embossing powder. The greeting pairs nicely with the classic label punch and the white perfect accents give it a nice finish. I was inspired to create two cards from this design by changing up the flower. I love how the gamboge is softened when the yellow is added, it pairs well with the Peekaboo Peach cardstock.

Power to the Pandas! Pink Power! When I first spotted this stamp set I went a little ga-ga over it! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and start crafting away! This card was born out of card swap with fellow demonstrators. I love the combination of powder pink and berry burst ( both new In Colours). I think the silver glitter balloon makes this card POP! Then I realize, that I am not the only one who is playing with this new product and not yielding the “As Seen On TV” results I was hoping for.

I wanted to give a small gift to my coworker for her birthday. I gifted her a Me to We Education Rafiki.
Here is an excerpt from their website:
In Swahili, the word for friend is rafiki. This Rafiki helps a child in a developing community access education. With education, learners become leaders, and a textbook becomes a vehicle for discovery and exploration—expanding perspectives and building understanding across people and cultures.
When you receive your new Me to We Artisans accessory, look out for the unique code on the back of your product package! Enter it online at trackyourimpact.com to learn more about the life-changing impact your purchase makes.
I love that this gift supports education. There are other rafikis to choose from but I thought this one was fitting as we are educators.
And yes…I created a card to match:
Could this be a new thing? Cards coordinating gifts?

I created this card in the Spring for a card swap. I confess, I love card swaps! They are a great way to share your talent with others and to get ideas for creating cards. As a demonstrator, I share card ideas with my customers. Card swaps allows me to have cards using stamp sets I may not have purchased ( and then after seeing an amazing card, I am tempted to add it to my wish list…sigh, such is the life of a craft-aholic)
