Wow! I lost 52 lbs in ONE WEEK!!!

Can you believe it!!! When I stepped on the scale, I could hardly believe it myself!

I realized that I had successfully got rid of 52 lbs…of clothing! Yep! I was in shock! This week’s challenge was to purge in the bedroom. Thanks to Cas from Clutterbug, for her Hug Your Home Challenge! I followed her tips for getting up close and personal with my stuff and here I am 52 lbs lighter. This has made choosing and finding items in the closet so much easier. (Yes, I left hubby’s stuff alone).

Holding a few of these bags in my hand:

I also purged an additional 50 items that didn’t belong in the bedroom. Who else puts things in the Master Bedroom:

 when company is coming?

“just for now”?

to paint/renovate another room in the house?

make space for Christmas?

any or all of the above? Let me know in the comment section.

So, I took out all the gift wrap, extra gift boxes, tape, scissors, extra notepads, books that I have already read, someone else’s clothes, knick-knacks, and dust bunnies from under the bed! (Gross!)

Here is the link to WEEK ONE- BEDROOM. This will take you to Cas’s Clutterbug blog. If you are more visual person, She is featuring the challenge on her YouTube channel. She goes through the process and I find her style of decluttering realistic and engaging! The best part, is she’s Canadian!!

I am working on WEEK TWO- KITCHEN this week and I will keep you updated on that too!

12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 2 Tin Tiles

Long ago, I was a painter. I loved to create faux finish techniques. Hence, why I love all that is messy in card making. When this video featured the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder AND Galvanized Metallic Paper, I knew I had to get my hands on these products and mess about. The video features the Country Lane Suite:

Paper Pumpkin March 2018 Alternate Projects

As I am writing this blog we are having some crazy weather here today!! Winds gusting at 100km/h and snow!!!

Wow!!! What better reason to create some cards.

Today I am featuring the very vintage March subscription box. The kit creates 8 cards, and so far I have created 12 by alternating a few of the items. I still have a few bits left, so we will see where that leads me. Be sure to check out the video below to get inspired to create:

I love that the envelopes are the perfect size for adding a flower seed packet. I think this would be a great Mother’s Day to gift to my friends. Especially the ones that I know love gardening.

Card #1 was created by sponging over the flowers with Flirty Flamingo, Powder Pink and Pear Pizzazz inks and a sponge dauber. I also coloured the wood flower element.

Card #2 was created by trimming down the front portion of the envelope. Here I used a Powder Pink card stock base, cut the included pink mat on a diagonal and added the luscious ribbon. (Afterthought, the brads could be used to adhere the ribbon too!)

Card #3 is a variation on the original envelope. I cut apart the coloured flowers so that I could bump them up, added some sponged Early Espresso ink to the edges.

Card #4  A tech glitch caused me to loose the first part of this clip.  To create the flap, I used the leftover envelope piece from card #2 to add a strip to the back. This gave me something to anchor the flap. I used the floral stamp ( afterthought the leaves stamp would work too!) to create an allover stamped image. I adhered the strips and floral sprays included in the kit and sponged the wood element. What I love about this card is when the flap is closed or opened the card is beautiful!

Stampin’ Up Brusho Birthday Blooms

Birthday Blooms Stamp Set

 Flower Shop Stamp Set

Back again, with another beautiful Brusho background. I created this card, first using the easy brusho technique. Once it was dry I added the versamark and embossing powder. The greeting pairs nicely with the classic label punch and the white perfect accents give it a nice finish. I was inspired to create two cards from this design by changing up the flower. I love how the gamboge is softened when the yellow is added, it pairs well with the Peekaboo Peach cardstock.

Rainbow Birthday Party Panda

When I saw this stamp set it looked like he was juggling, so I thought why not juggle multicoloured confetti? I tied it in with coordinating paper scraps. I coloured the dots on the hat to coordinate with the inks using my blender pen.

It seems lately I have been drawn to using my 1/2″ bits for greetings and embossing them! It’s a phase.

Leave a comment to let me know which colour is your favourite?

I found  this card went together fairly quickly when I had all the bits embossed and pre-cut. Want to give it a try? Click on the video to learn how:
