IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME…
Not looking for Babe Ruth to come out and play baseball, but I AM hoping for some fun crafting memories.
Wow! It’s been a busy week throwing out stuff, getting new carpet and putting in the trim.
Now today’s task is painting the trim…. then, finally the room will be ready!
OOOPS! Ignore the Blue door…We still have to paint that.
This is the blank canvas I get to work with!!!

We are planning the nook to the left as a refreshment centre.
The stairs going down is to “The Men’s Den”! (insert twilight zone music here).

A LITTLE BIT OF THIS, A LITTLE BIT OF THAT…

Late last night, I found myself once again, unable to sleep, so I finished up the yin/yang scarf. It took me a bit longer to knit this one up.

Then I tried something new. This is called Zentangle- it’s a creative meditation. I always thought this was doodling, who knew! I got the idea from Suzanne McNeill- she is very crafty!

And of course I couldn’t blog today without sharing a card. This card has gold embossing at the bottom “Happy Birthday”, it’s difficult to see in the photo! But very cool!

More than just cards…
Not to be superstitious, today I decided to showcase some of my other talents:
Quilting…
These placemats were done with a friend of mine as a sample for a class:

These placemats were done as a group project with my friends from the Ladies’ Workshop, we are hoping they sell at our Craft Sale later in the year.

This block is called Indian Star:

And this one is called Double Bow tie, they are part of a Block of the Month club that I am doing with C & M Crafts n’ Stuff.

Knitting:
Then I went a little crazy making these scarves (I did these last, last weekend…)

THEN…I attempted to knit socks this week. Uggh! What a crazy adventure THAT was!
I started, then I realized I was not following the pattern.Pulled it out, next go: the wool was slipping off the needles and I was losing stitches off one end of the needle faster than I could knit them at the other end. Pulled them out again.
I decided I would try different needles (bamboo) and different wool  (kroy sock wool), only to discover that they were TOO BIG for my feet! Yes, I took it out AGAIN! And there they sit, the wool and the needles waiting for me…calling out to try again! I look at them and say,” I will defeat you, just not today!” Keep you
posted on whether I win or the sock wool wins!!

Whew! What a week! Well I hope you enjoy!
Cheers, Roxy

Today’s blog is all about trying out my new embossing folders AND using up some cardstock.
I love the combo of yellow and purple, and I seem to have an overstock of these two colours.
They are both retired cardstock colours from Stampin’Up!, I am sure you can get the same effect with So Saffron and Perfect Plum or Wisteria Wonder. I also went a little crazy with the pearls. I wanted to use my Easter Dove stamp as well, with Easter just around the corner…
Here they are, enjoy!

I used the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (say that ten times fast)whew!

I used the same folder as above…

For this card I used Tea Shoppe stamp set from the Occassions Mini.
I love this stamp set – do you think it has anything to do with my love for tea?
My favourite tea is Buckingham Palace Garden Party Tea. No I have never been to the palace for tea, but if the Queen was serving this up, I just might go…

Sale-a-bration ends on Friday
Only a few days left to get those FREE STAMP SETS!! Contact me to place your order!
Look at all the neat cards you can make with Fresh Vintage and Elementary Elegance:

Some of these were inspired from my web surfing and some came from my upline Jenn

Been stamping up a storm…

Been stamping up a storm…

Check out these newbies. I wanted to offer a stamping 101 workshop to showcase the variety of uses for the versamark pad. Well after some web-surfing inspiration, this is what I came up with:

Stamping the Night Away

No sleep, means lots of flowing creativity. This usually starts with a web-surfing inspired session.
The theme was using up scraps, which turned into faux quilting. Here are the results:
